Yankee Stadium

On my second trip into Ossining this morning (you can only carry so many provisions at a time when you're to cheap to spring for cab fare), I saw several people going to the train with their Yankee jerseys on.  I had a pretty open schedule today so I thought I would ride the train in and just take a look at the stadium. I am just going to take a tour of the outside of the stadium, I am not going to stay long enough to justify buying a ticket.  The sun is out in full force today and I didn't bring any sunscreen.  I approached the stadium and saw Babe Ruth Plaza, I thought well maybe If I can get a ticket for $20 or less I'll go in.  The game had already started, I could here the fans cheering loudly from outside (the Yankees scored 5 in the bottom of the 1st).  There were long lines at the gate for security screening, do I really want to stand in those lines, I'm not even a Yankees fan (or and American League fan).

I soon found myself in the area where tickets are sold, not much of a line here.  I asked the guard: What's the cheapest ticket you can buy?  Twenty two dollars he says, OK that's over my preset limit so on I went around the stadium.

I walked completely around the stadium. The energy on game day is incredible around a professional sports stadium on game day.  Vendors selling their wares, kids excited to see the game, fans of all type ready to cheer their team on to a victory.  As I got back around close to Babe Ruth Plaza a guy says hey want to see the game cheap today.  I said: How cheap.  Twenty bucks he says. And that's how I found myself inside Yankee Stadium to see the Yankees and the Orioles play (or at least the Yankees came to play, 3-14 was the final).    I watched the last couple of innings in a bar across the street, I wanted to get a feel for the stadium bar as well.  All in all a pretty good day (even though the Yankees won), Yankee Stadium is a pretty cool place.

Before I knew it, I was inside caught up in
the moment.
The seat wasn't to bad for $20.

This Little League field is in the shadow of  Yankee Stadium.
When I went in there was a Little League game going on.  Pretty cool
