Two steps forward and one step back

This was to be the week.  I have all of the boat projects completed (well at least all of the pre-departure ones) and the second home is sold and the closing was Friday, May 5.   The boat is packed with food and supplies (probably way more than I need).  I had my bags packed, the one-way car rental was secured and my mind was set to start the first leg of the Great Loop.  I have been over the charts and virtually traveled the route.  I was ready to go.  But alas, another delay. 

Unfortunately, Dad is experiencing some medical problems that will require I be close at hand for at least the next week, maybe two.  I guess I knew deep down a week ago that I would delay the trip until we knew what the issues are that Dad is experiencing, but I kept planning up until Thursday like I was going to be heading out next week.  But the reality finally came to surface that, the trip will be there when I can get back to it, right now I need to be close to home.  So for now the trip is on hold for now, but stand by for news from the Great Loop soon.
